Late-Night Theft? Walmart Employee Caught Stockpiling ZzzQuil in Internal Theft Case
A woman was charged with retail theft after Ephrata police learned she had reportedly stolen from an Ephrata Walmart at the end of her shift.
Ephrata police said Jacqueline Szelewa, 27, of Denver, would take merchandise, hide it in her purse before her shift, and then leave the store without paying for it.
Walmart called the police after investigating the reported thefts. Their investigation revealed that Szelewa supposedly stole from the store on nine different occasions with a total of $740.39 in combined retail value.
Three people, including juvenile, arrested after $15K rare guitar theft
Three suspects, including one juvenile, have been arrested in connection with the theft of a rare $15,000 guitar from Music Land in Bel Air, according to the BPD.
The adult suspects have been identified as 18-year-old Ionut Kenzo Stoica and 19-year-old Milescu Alexa Teodora, both from Roselle, NJ.
The juvenile is from Middlesex, NJ. Their identity if not being released due to Maryland law.
These suspects are allegedly connected to other theft investigations involving musical instruments in MD & NJ.
Despite the arrests, the guitar has yet to be recovered.

If your Easter basket plans include making a serious statement this year, Costco may have just the centerpiece — a towering, 10-pound chocolate bunny named Pete.
The retailer is selling the massive seasonal treat, made from semi-solid milk, white and dark chocolate, ahead of Easter. The bunny, which features a floppy ear, white chocolate details and an adorable smile, is designed to be both a 'basket showstopper" and "egg-stagram sensation,” according to the warehouse retail chain's announcement.
Pete comes with a playful, and somewhat intense, set of eating instructions printed on the box. Shoppers are advised to either smash the bunny with a hammer, mallet or rolling pin (after wrapping it in a towel), or slice it open with a warmed serrated knife. Once cracked, the chocolate can be passed around or repurposed for baking, hot cocoa or dessert toppings.
Kansas City woman gets 16 years in prison for Northland shoplifting spree
A Kansas City woman has been sentenced to 16 years in prison after prosecutors say she carried out a string of shoplifting incidents across the Northland.
Aaliyah Walker was sentenced Thursday following a multi-agency investigation led by the Kansas City Police Department and retail loss-prevention teams, according to the Clay County Prosecutor’s Office.
Investigators linked Walker to at least eight thefts in Clay County in early 2024, with stolen merchandise totaling hundreds to more than $1,000 per incident, court records show.
