Organized Crime Ring Breaks Into Store, Makes Off With $180K Worth of Pokémon Cards

Thieves literally broke through the walls to get what they wanted in California, smashing into a collectible card shop and making off with approximately $180,000 worth of Pokémon merchandise. This isn’t your typical smash-and-grab. This was a calculated, organized assault on a small business that shows just how emboldened criminals have become in the Golden State.

According to FoxNews on X, the brazen heist targeted high-value collectible cards, demonstrating how organized retail crime has evolved beyond traditional merchandise to target niche, valuable items. The criminals didn’t bother with doors or windows. They went straight through the wall, showing the kind of brazen disregard for property rights that has become all too common in California’s crime-plagued cities.

Family of 5 allegedly operating as theft crew arrested in Glendale

A family of five who allegedly operated as a theft crew was arrested by Glendale police.

Authorities had been investigating the group, comprised of a husband, wife, and their three children (two adults and one juvenile).

Operating as a theft unit, the family would frequently move between short-term rental locations in different areas, typically staying only a few days at each home, detectives said.

They often used “distraction theft” methods to target and steal from their victims, police said.

In a distraction theft, suspects will create a scenario to divert the victim’s attention, allowing them or their accomplices to steal personal belongings or valuables.

Man with 25-year record charged in high-end Boston shoplifting spree

A Boston man was arraigned Friday in Boston Municipal Court in connection with a series of alleged retail thefts at several high-end Back Bay stores, Suffolk District Attorney Kevin Hayden said.

Peter Cutelis, 40, faces four counts of larceny over $1,200, as well as charges of possessing Class A, B, and C substances. He is also charged with being a “common and notorious thief,” a legal designation used in cases involving repeated allegations of theft. Cutelis has a history of theft- and trespassing-related offenses dating back to 2001, according to Hayden’s office.

A judge set bail at $2,500 and ordered Cutelis to stay away from the stores involved. He was also held without bail on a fugitive from justice charge out of Brentwood, New Hampshire, related to a failure to appear. Cutelis is due back in court on March 6 for a p

Using Generative AI and Natural Language Processing in Video Surveillance.

If you’ve ever tried to track down a specific moment across hours of video and thousands of cameras, you know how frustrating—and costly—that process can be. Whether you’re investigating a theft, verifying compliance, or locating a misplaced item, traditional video search is slow, resource-heavy, and often inconclusive.

Now imagine this instead: you ask your system a question—“Where is cash left on the counter?”—and it shows you the answer.

By applying generative AI to video, your imagination becomes reality.

Costco Reportedly Cracks Down on Lenient Return Policy

Costco, known for its generous return policy, is reportedly cracking down on questionable returns that have been costing the company a lot of money. Some customers have encountered situations where Costco workers are requiring additional proof of purchase for returns or checking a person's membership history to see how often they return items. The change reportedly stems from incidents of customers returning used Christmas trees well after the holiday season and issues with perishable items.

Costco has not publicly addressed any changes to its return policy, but the company may continue to monitor and adjust its policies to address abuse and fraud.
